Housing



Housing is in crisis and development is a contentious issue around the city. It seems clear that all levels of government are acquiescing to the profit demands of developers and, even when they are not, provincial governments are ensuring local governments do not get in the way.  It is essential that affordable housing be provided equitably and responsibly in an era of accelerating climate change.

  • Development:  Toronto is straining under unsustainable and environmentally destructive overdevelopment, overdensification is causing many ill effects, and the emissions from development are ignored.  Development needs to be responsible and compatible with efforts to mitigate and prevent further climate change.  read more…
